Firmware Downloading and Installation Notes.
The 8719ET/ES, 8720ET/ES, and 8722ET/ES ship with a CPU board which utilizes Flash ROM, where a firmware upgrade simply consists of a file which is loaded into the ROM from a floppy disk when the instrument is powered up. 8719D/20D/22D analyzers having Firmware Revisions 7.12 or higher also have this same CPU board. Analyzers having Firmware Revisions 6.XX or lower must be upgraded with the 8719DU/20DU/22DU Option 000 CPU Upgrade to support Firmware Revisions 7.XX or higher.
To download the file, simply click on the filename and your web browser's "Save As" dialog box will pop up and allow you to save the file to your floppy or hard disk. This EXE file is a Windows self-extracting zip file (will run under Windows 95, 98, NT, 2k, ME, or XP). When you run the EXE from your computer's hard disk (do not run the EXE from floppy as the floppy will not have enough room), the EXE will unzip the actual firmware file (for the 8719D/20/22D, you also receive the firmware installation notes in Adobe Acrobat PDF file format).
When the firmware file has been unzipped, THE FILENAME MUST REMAIN UNCHANGED WHEN IT IS COPIED TO THE FLOPPY, or else the network analyzer will not load it during the upgrade process!
